I homeschool my kids and teaching them to read just wasn’t going well. We had tried other tutors before and the kids had learned some basics but weren’t reading fluently or enjoying it at all. Thankfully I found Liz on our charter school’s vendor list and decided to give her a call. My children have been working with Liz for over a year now and we are very happy with her. They are in fourth and sixth grade this year. Their reading scores have gone from reading one grade below for one child and two grades below for the other to both reading on grade level within the year!
She is the only one of their tutors that we feel is so invaluable that we continue to pay her out-of-pocket during school breaks when their charter school funding is halted. My husband is extremely picky about their tutors and after eavesdropping for a few classes he deemed her excellent. We really like her methods and presentation style. My daughter is notoriously grumpy in the mornings and has a hard time getting up and going straight into tutoring, but Liz is always so patient and kind with her. Both my kids love her and think she’s a wonderful teacher. I only wish we had found her sooner!
